Vivian Howard is a well-known chef who has written many books about cooking and the culinary industry. In her latest book, A Chef’s Life: The Final Harvest, she reveals how her career path took her from the kitchen to the top of the food world. Vivian Howard, who was born in Deep Run, North Carolina, is a chef, author, television personality, and businesswoman. She has received many accolades and awards for her work, including a James Beard award and a Peabody award.

She started out in advertising and marketing, but turned her passion for food into a successful career. She is now the owner of two restaurants in Kinston, N.C., and the star of a PBS series, A Chef’s Life.

Howard has been a James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef Southeast. She was awarded a Peabody award for her television show, A Chef’s Life, and she is a recipient of the Woman of Achievement Award from Meredith College.

A Chef’s Life: The Final Harvest

A Chef’s Life: The Final Harvest will make the rounds on WXXI-TV on Monday October 22, 2018. It’s the Food Network’s best season yet, and a fitting sendoff for the series’ namesake, Vivian Howard. As for the rest of the cast, it’s the end of a long and exciting run.

A Chef’s Life is not the first show to tackle the culinary arts in North Carolina. In fact, the show has been nominated for the Best Culinary Show award more than a few times. On April 26, 2018, the Food Network nabbed the Daytime Emmy for the show’s outstanding culinary program.

A Chef’s Life was produced by Markay Media and South Carolina ETV. Rex Miller and Tom Vickers were behind the scenes. During the show’s heyday, it was aired in over ninety percent of the U.S., making it one of the highest rated cooking shows of all time. Interestingly, it was also nominated for the James Beard Award for the aforementioned best culinary show title.

Despite the show’s demise, Vivian Howard is already at work on a new TV series, Somewhere South. The show will be a follow-up to A Chef’s Life, and will cover similar culinary territory. Among other things, it will feature Vivian’s culinary obsessions, from her ninja-like ability to bake a perfect biscuit to her bucket list of Southern ingredients.
